It is now a well-known fact that Korean women are voracious beauty consumers as they are always in search of the “next big thing”, and in turn, industry experts are quick to satisfy their demands. During our beauty hunt today in Seoul, we came across some interesting finds.
The latest (and slightly shocking) ingredients in products to hit the shelves are cheese and donkey milk. These products have been around for a few months now in Korea, but are gaining increasingly more traction in the media. Here is a rundown of these ingredients and what they do for your skin.
It is said that Cleopatra and royal families bathed in donkey milk, which is known for its hydrating, brightening and skin clarifying properties. Donkey milk is the closest in substance to human breast milk, and therefore non-irritating to all skin types. It also contains almost 5 times more vitamin C than regular milk, hence improves elasticity and overall skin health.
Natural protein (whey) found in cheese has excellent moisturizing abilities along with vitamins A, B, and E that help protect the skin from harmful environmental factors. The actual texture of these products represents the stretchiness of Mozzarella cheese; it feels very similar to Mizon’s All-in-One Snail Repair Cream.
These are certainly the latest wow-factors in the Korean beauty industry, although, not widely used just yet. We’ve noticed that women have been sticking to natural herbs and non-irritating formulas that are also hyper-hydrating, in preparation for even colder days ahead. Peach and Lily is working hard and doing the legwork for you on the grounds of Seoul, so stay tuned for more carefully curated products coming your way.
Cheers to radiance!
