The Bright(ening) Stars
We’ve arrived at the last two masks included in the 7 Days Mask Kit—(or simply found in our new Ariul selection): Pomegranate and Lemon. (Read about The Calming Series—Tree and Aloe here, and The Skin Vitamins—Avocado, Bamboo Water, and Green Tea here). These two super fruits are best known for their brightening powers, though that’s far from all they do with regards to skin benefits.
Ariul, 7 days Mask - Lemon, $3
Lemon is clarifying and brightening due to its contents of Vitamin C and citric acid it’s a powerful antioxidant for neutralizing free radicals and boosting collagen production. It’s a useful ingredient in fighting age spots and sunspots. But, that’s not all it’s good for! Thanks to a triple whammy of being anti-inflammatory, antifungal, and antibacterial, lemon also aids in controlling shine, reducing excess oil and battling blackheads.
Ariul, 7 days Mask - Pomegranate, $3
Like Lemon, the bright pink seeds of one of our fave fruits—Pomegranate provides a bevy of potent restorative benefits to the skin. Like green tea, Pomegranate is chock full of antioxidants. Some of these antioxidants are seriously amazing multi-taskers—take gallic and ellagic acid, for example, (both found in pomegranates)—these actually ward off sun damage, and reduce collagen breakdown which keeps the skin plump plus stimulate Fibroblasts (collagen producing cells), which in turn minimizes the formation of wrinkles. Like lemon, pomegranate also boasts anti-inflammatory properties making it great for combatting that icky red-swelling situation that arises when we break out.
There you have it, Lemon and Pomegranate, as good for your skin as they are zesty and delicious, respectively. :)
