We believe in consciously crafted beauty – this means thoughtfully considering the impact a brand will have on someone's skin, the community, our planet, how ingredients are sourced, how formulas are tested, what values are being embraced and more.
Many of these topics require research, digging into facts and supply chains and industry-wide practices, and can't be addressed in a glib, superficial way if the goal is truly considering the impact across these various areas.
It takes hard work and constant evaluation, and sometimes the goal isn't perfection but to strive towards constant improvement. We're proud that the Peach & Lily Collection is certified as a Conscious Beauty brand at Ulta Beauty meeting the highest standard of all five of their pillars. We'll break down the Conscious Beauty at Ulta Beauty pillars for you here:
Clean
This word isn't regulated and can be both misleading and confusing. Brands can reference this word to mean different things. Here's how we define clean. By clean, we don't mean "all-natural" and we embrace safe synthetic ingredients. In fact, lab-made ingredients can be more reliable, stable and sustainable. We also embrace beautiful plant-based ingredients as they can have incredible benefits for skin. Ultimately, we exclude 1,550+ ingredients from our formulas to keep it gentle for skin and our planet, and to provide an option that includes our community's input.
Vegan
All of our formulas found in Ulta Beauty are Vegan. Our whole Peach & Lily Collection is vegan except the KBeauty Rescue Balm which includes beeswax (no bees are harmed). Vegan formulas mean no animal ingredients or animal-derived ingredients in the formulas.
Cruelty Free
We never test on animals and our ingredient suppliers also do not test on animals. We are a Leaping-Bunny certified brand.
Sustainable-packaging
This is a big topic. Sustainability is a complex issue, but our planet (and mankind) deserves rigorous thinking to preserve our beautiful Earth. All of our packaging is 100% recyclable. Most of our primary components for products are in glass and where it's appropriate to use plastic, we use easily recyclable plastic. We also note that carbon footprint matters. Glass is heavier and transporting glass takes more energy, so it's not as linear as saying all glass packaging is always better. We also know that the recycling industry has not yet fully developed the infrastructure to easily recycle all recyclable materials and still aluminum and paper are the most easily recyclable, both from a feasibility and energy impact perspective. We love seeing packaging material companies innovating to make more sustainable packaging. We consider sustainability in both our packaging and carbon footprint and continue to stay involved in any sustainability innovations or developments across industries.
Positive Impact
Our mission at Peach & Lily is to empower people to transform their skin. We also believe that businesses can make a positive impact in their communities and giving back is mission-critical to us, which is why our founder, Alicia Yoon, built giving back as a key part of our DNA and business model early on. When it comes to empowerment, we strive to also empower some of the most disenfranchised people in our community. Since 2015, we've been in partnership with Restore NYC, a non-profit that seeks to stop sex trafficking in the US and help restore survivors to lead safe, autonomous lives. We're proud that as we've grown as a company, we have also become one of Restore NYC's largest financial donors. We also actively work with Restore NYC through awareness campaigns, hosting their events in our office, donating various products and services and doing what we can to help support an important mission to stop one of the most evil industries that plays out right under our noses in NYC. We want to thank our Peach Community as your support and positivity is what makes our giving back initiatives possible. We feel grateful that together we can be a part of positive change in our world.
As always, Peaches, let us know below if you have any questions and thank you for being a part of our community. Caring for your skin and being a part of your skincare journey is our greatest privilege, and we're grateful to be able to do this while consciously considering the various ways we craft our formulas and integrate with our community.
Cheers to radiance,
Peach & Lily Team
