Hi Peaches,
Sustainability has always been a part of our DNA with 100% recyclable packaging, careful consideration of supply chain and ingredients, and campaign initiatives like planting a tree on behalf of our Peach & Lily customers! For those who have questions on upcycling and recycling, here's a guide:
Upcycling
Recycling takes resources, so we also love to find ways to upcycle items. Here are a few guidelines on upcycling:
1.
After you've finished using a product, you can wash and sterilize the glass containers before using it for its next life! An easy way to do so is by placing them in boiling water for 10 to 15 minutes. And be sure to cool the glass before using. For plastic parts, be sure to thoroughly wash with soap before use.
2.
Find a home for your clean containers! This is the fun part. We don't recommend reusing parts for food or food-grade elements, but we love using them for plants (Super Reboot Resurfacing Mask and Pore Proof Perfecting Clay Mask and the Wild Dew Treatment Essence are perfect for this), jewelry (the travel size Super Reboot Resurfacing Mask for the smaller gems!), small objects on desks, small see-through storage containers, vanity table storage units for all those bobby pins and other bits and pieces, and even things like a fine mist spray for plants (hello, Glass Skin Veil Mist spray). We'd love to hear from you! Please share below your favorite ways to upcycle!
Recycling
Recycling isn't as straightforward as placing recyclable items in the recycling bin, so we thought we'd share a guide on how to recycle your Peach & Lily products. This guide can also be helpful for other household items you're recycling!
1.
First, you want to make sure to separate your lid, dropper, pump, spray, etc. from the container. Essentially, you want to separate materials to their singular source. For example, for the Glass Skin Refining Serum, you need to separate the container from the plastic cap. Recycling centers reject mixed materials as there isn't a way for them to separate or pull apart mixed materials. So keep in mind this rule of thumb: singular materials and no mixing!
2.
Second, you want to clean out your recyclables. Give the glass Super Reboot jar a rinse, for example. For the Power Calm Cleanser, we recommend cutting it open the long way and giving it a quick rinse. If things aren't properly cleaned, the waste can contaminate other materials, so they may not be recycled. An easy rule of thumb to remember: rinse it all!
3.
When all your materials are separated, cleaned and good to go, place in your recycling bin or you can find recycling bins on the streets, at work, at school or at recycling hubs. You can check out I Want To Be Recycled to find local recycling information on how to recycle things!

We hope you found this helpful. Cheers to healthy skin and a healthy planet!
