Summer is coming. We know the last thing you want to do is put on a thick layer of cream when it’s sticky out but all the highlighter in the world can’t give you a glow if your skin is dehydrated. After months of formulating, we’ve come up with a dream cream. Here’s the scoop on why you’ll want to add this formula to your shelfie.
Why did we make it? Moisturizer is the skincare basic that everyone needs for healthy skin. When we started thinking about our perfect lotion, we had lots of musts in mind. First, it must be easy to use. We know how busy life can get, this multitasking moisturizer simplifies your routine. The serum and moisturizer in one can be layered without feeling heavy. Our founder, Alicia was inspired by her travels and wanted a versatile hard-working formula (this lotion and sheet masks is all she flies with now). It took us over 50 tries to get the formula just right!
What skin types does it work for? All! While oily complexions might shy away from moisturizer, even oily skin can be dehydrated. Confused? Dehydrated skin, can lack water content, but may still produce oil. This lotion is like a drink of water for skin. It delivers loads of hydration with glycerin. And if you have very dry skin, this formula can be layered till you get the maximum amount of moisture needed. Strengthening ceramides also help protect the skin barrier so moisture can’t escape through any cracks (making it especially great for sensitive skin types).
What else in it? The addition of honey offers antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. To boost it even further, annatto seed, orange and lemon peel oils and brightening grapefruit help to gently brighten so skin looks even toned and clear. And while we made sure it had plenty of good for you nourishing ingredients, we also made sure it had none of the icky stuff- no synthetic fragrances, dyes, parabens, mineral oil, sulfates or formaldehyde.
What’s it feel like? This lightweight gel melts into skin and absorbs super fast. The non-sticky base work well under makeup (no pilling) and helps create a smooth surface (foundation can cake on dry skin!). Even if you apply several layers, it’s so lightweight that it doesn’t feel like you have anything on.
Last words: Packaging was also a major component for us. The squeeze tube keeps you from dipping your fingers in so it’s more hygenic. Plus, it’s light (and sturdy) enough to throw in your bag.
