Pop into your local Sephora or Walgreens and tell us how many “natural” and/or “organic” brands you see neatly lined up on the shelves.
The thing is, the FDA unfortunately doesn’t tightly regulate these labels, so cosmetic companies are essentially free to slap any label on any product they please. So that “organic” or “natural” moisturizer actually can contain synthetic chemicals, and even worse, according to the EWG (Environmental Working Group), “those certified as organic can contain as little as 10 percent organicingredients by weight or volume.”
Needless to say, it’s a bit upsetting that our efforts to put only good-for-you natural ingredients on our skin and body are being thwarted.
Luckily, when we were down in the beauty dumps, we realized our shelves were stocked with 100% reliable natural brand: aromatica.
